Morning Commute - Thailand

Motorbikes in the western world may be seen simply as a form of transportation. In Thailand, they're such a way of life-- and they're everywhere. A common form of transportation, and sometimes the only form in many households. A whole family comfortably seated on one bike isn't a rare sight. Some will attach a sidecar to transport their daily necessities, occasionally including people, dogs, and chickens. Young teenagers, elders and every age in between can be spotted confidently navigating the roads. From going down the street to a friend's place, picking up groceries, children getting dropped off at school, motorbikes are embedded in the Thai lifestyle. Unlike the unseen drivers of cars, the motorbike driver is discernible, right in front of you, offering a glimpse of the local life, serving as the inspiration for this series.
